Reimagining a Brand with Legacy and Vision

Recently, we had the privilege of working on an exciting rebrand project with Michel Sales Agency, a family-owned manufacturer’s representative agency spanning four generations. Owners and brothers Matt and Rick Michel knew it was time for a fresh, new look to match their evolving business.

After initially trying an online marketplace for their logo, they realized it didn’t quite capture their company’s direction and values.

The Value of a Personal Touch

Online Marketplaces vs. Designers

Online marketplaces can be handy for small tasks, but when it comes to a large-scale project or rebrand, working directly with a designer has several benefits.

Personalized Process: One benefit is that designers invest time into research and getting to know your company. Because of this, they’re able to implement your specific feedback and serve as trusted partners and advisors throughout the entire process. This makes for a smoother, more cohesive project.

Supporting Local Business: Another benefit of partnering with a local designer, like Oxyjen Design, is that it fosters in-person connections that build trust and ensure your vision is fully understood and executed. The team at Michel Sales really valued this in our time of working together. We were able to meet in person several times, which was helpful on both ends. In-person connections add another level of trust to the relationship, which isn’t possible when you’re working with a stranger over an online marketplace.

Where Oxyjen Stepped In

Michel Sales chose Oxyjen Design to create a rebrand that matched their new direction, elevated their brand presence, and resonated with their target audience. Here’s a look at our rebrand process:

Step 1: Strategy and Research

We first started by researching their target audience and competitors, which led to creating a stylescape that proposed the brand look, fonts, and color palette.

Step 2: Logo Design

We presented three logo options, and the Michel Sales team easily chose the one that perfectly matched their vision.

Step 3: Identity Pieces

After finalizing the logo, we developed essential identity pieces like business cards, letterhead, envelopes, email signatures, and PowerPoint slide decks. We also created promotional product mockups that included T-shirts and hats as well as designed a new website that recently launched!

The End Result

Michel Sales Agency’s new brand feels modern and cohesive, maintaining a professional feel while staying true to their roots. This was an incredible project to be a part of, and the team is thrilled with the results!

“Jen was professional and creative with a quick response time – very easy to work with. We had some tight deadlines and she worked extremely well to keep us on target. I truly appreciate her willingness to get things turned around quickly. She has great ideas to promote to leadership in a respectful manner. I look forward to collaborating with her on future projects!”
