HR & Marketing: A Perfect Pairing
With employment shortages still at the #1 spot on the list of concerns for manufacturers, a big question still looms. How can HR Departments use marketing to acquire and retain top talent?
According to Michael Brenner from Marketing Insider Group, HR Departments have been forced to expand their role from hiring & firing to adopt strategies that look very much like marketing. This is also a topic I’ve seen come up for many of my clients lately. It has resulted in more projects with HR and Communications Departments by helping them create social media hiring campaigns and process documents – and it’s working.
The combined connections of employees is 10x larger than the company’s page followers, according to LinkedIn. How can you boost employee engagement? The key is to create content that employees want to share or possibly write themselves. Writing content they are interested in is a great way to establish their own knowledge, gain a social following, and possibly even get a promotion in the process. It’s a win-win!
3 Key Design Pieces to have in place:
- Open Enrollment and New Hire guides to explain benefits to new and existing employees
- An Onboarding Toolkit for management and new hires to follow
- A social media strategy and campaign to promote hiring with coordinated digital assets to match
Here is a project I worked on with Minnetronix Medical recently. We worked together to create digital assets for a social media campaign along with an Onboarding Toolkit with a checklist for both management and new employees to follow.
Need help with any of these items? Book a call with me and we can work together to strategize a plan to help you create on-brand, professional-looking assets for all of the above.
